Kirby Sun

An epic early morning forecast for Kirby meant waking up at 4am and getting rigged in the dark. The forecast was for it to swing from SW, through the ideal Westerly and finish up NW.
I was pretty much out there as soon as I could see where I was going, but unfortunately it was already NW -too broad and very choppy. On the bright side the wind was pretty nuking. Not quite as windy as last time, but good enough for a 47.9knots on the display.

Rubbish for ranking results but nice maxes, exciting death chop again and sunshine.
Used the usual go-to of 40 Moo, 5.5 Simmer and 20 k4Moo fin.

A new proto from Jon at Moo Custom. A 17cm K4Moo speed fin, can't wait to give it a go next time out.

After the wind had eased a bit it was time for some freestyle.

I've been spocking since before this kid was born (really I have!), and he's already better than me..

The standard of Freestyle at Kirby is going off the scale, a good bunch all pushing each other.

Saturday's forecast looks like finally a day to put the Brits back in the top 10 of the 2011 speed ranking, but we'll have to wait and see, fingers firmly crossed.
