Bit of freestyle
Despite all this wind I haven't given myself much to shout about. First up was the National Windsurf Festival. An absolutely fantastic event which I thoroughly enjoyed, but my entry to the racing was shambolic to say the least. Not sure if I ticked the wrong box (probably knowing me), but ended up 109th in the freeride fleet, whaaaa. Guess it didn't help doing 3 laps when the National fleet were doing 2 and the Freeride fleet 1! So many sailors on the water I couldn't tell what the heck was going on... (not sure where I got 3 laps from)
great event :) Thanks to Kev Greenslade for lending me his kit :)

Then had two big forecasts for speedsailing; the first at Southend, which turned out not to be windy enough, then at West Kirby, which turned out not to be windy enough...

Last weekend was definitely the highlight of the last couple of weeks. Full power on 4m and decent waves at Rhosniegre on the Saturday, soo much fun of course I didn't bother getting the camera out. Sunday I thought I'll definitely get some footage, but ended up driving most of the coast down to South Wales looking for something that wasn't there (decent waves). Should have stayed at Rossi, which I'm sure would have been 3.7 and mast high. On the brightside I did recky Fairbourne to Llanrustid, and now know it all needs a 50yr storm to be worth bothering... (which I kind of already knew anyway, but obviously had to remind myself)

Then came another big speed forecast, and another day of not enough wind for the 5.5, 40Moo and 20 fin. So 3rd time not lucky. Of course had I gone the day before I'd have been fine (despite the wind being square, it was nuking, and Farrel put in his best times of the year)

I have made myself useful though, and taken some shots of the top freestyle dudes...
