PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS SPOT HASN'T BEEN SAILED YET AND MAY BE SUBJECT TO VERY STRONG CURRENTS DUE TO THE TIDES IN THE MENAI STRAIGHT!

HOWIE ROWSON:

''AberMenai, (Western end of the Menai Straits) potential mid to low tide speed spot in a northerly. Sandy Point like speed curve. Difficult to access from the Anglesey side, best access from Caenarfon side, sailing across the straits and hoping over the intermediate sand bars.

To the south of this spot,  across the straits is the shallow inlet of Y Forydd, a great spot for lake blasting 2 hrs either side of the high tide.

On leaving the menai straits heading sw around the coast towards Dinas and Caenarfon Airport, on a spring low a further sand bar is revealed, again potentially working in a northerly flow.''

Another option on Anglesea, is the 'Inland sea' near Holyhead..
