''Its best I think at high tide with cleaner wind over the shingle bank. West is best I think or SW - plus if its not windy enough for top speeds it's a good place for a general easy sail, jumping etc. Big swells in the shipping lane. You can sail it for 6 hours if you catch the tide coming in, and the water is 15 meters from your van  ( unlike the Ray walk !)
I've had 32.7 knots on my old Axis . The lagoon is sailable for 4 hours + but gets a bit muddy. If you want to rest at the east end.''
