'' Here's some info for Ynyslas.. It isn't good in a Westerly as it is then protected by the dunes. For speed sailing the best directions are E-NE, and it is usually best early morning in the spring when we get the local katabatic wind howling down through the valley. Mid to low tide is best although on Springs it gets too shallow.

If you look at the Google Earth image you have, then we actually sail in the deep channel that runs NW-SE right in the middle of the picture. close to the sandbank which gives nice smooth water at low tides.
