Gallows is an untried but potentially very fast strip near Beaumaris on Anglesey. Would appear to work in SE winds at low tide. Thanks to Howie Rowson for the heads up, but he's keen to point out this spot hasn't been sailed yet.

STEVE THORP:
I've now had a chance to eyeball this spot. The wind was a strong southerly and the tide was just above a neap low at around 2.5m (I was on my way to Rhosniegr for a wavesail..) I'm viewing from the boat club on the Beaumaris side
The gallows speed strip..

The Gallows strip looks quick and to have very flat water in a SE wind although it looks fairly short. It may reveal itself as longer on a lower tide. Fastest directions would be SSE or a rare E wind. It looks fairly safe as the channel is quite narrow and the Lifeboat launch is immediately opposite!
There's also a strip on the Llanfairfechan side which works in a SW wind blowing straight up the straights but details are sketchy.
