FOUR DAYS IN THURSO, NORTH COAST SCOTLAND 20th-24th March 2009

Nick Moffatt, Rich Potter and myself made the trip up to Thurso for a long weekend hoping to score some legendary North coast surf breaks. We travelled up Friday the night, did some scoping out on Saturday (every blooming beach for 70 miles!), sailed 4m head-logo high Sunday, same again Monday, then surfed Thurso East overhead on Tuesday before heading home. I'm not going to tell you all the plus points or where to go sail, but I will say that no matter what the wind is doing it's worth a trip up to find out for yourself. Just take lots of warm clothes, a warm wetsuit (or 2 not so warm ones if you're Potter) and lots of spare kit! There's sick windsurf spots in abundance..
Saturday scenery..

Looks small, but if you look closely there's a sail out there..

Great trip, can't wait to go back.
Pics by Nick Moffatt, Rich Potter and me. We probably missed the best moments as everyone was on it.
