My dabble with bike racing from '05 to '07.

Bike racing is a massive amount of fun, I had some fantastic days but eventually realised windsurfing is the biggest buzz and comes a whole lot cheaper.
The novice year..

Racing Roadstocks at Mallory and Darley Moore..

Racing Streetstocks with NG at Donington..

In '05 I managed to win both EMRA's Roadstock and NG's Streetstock 600 classes.
Formula 600 at Mallory

In '06 I finished runner up in the F600 class, still on the old roadbike.

For my final year I stepped upto a Gsxr 1000k5 -a total missile! A huge amount of fun to race, but unfortunately it had an insatiable appetite for tyres -£200 a set, lasting one race, and 4 races a day!

Despite being a senior instructor for Focused trackdays and getting great help from sponsors, I couldn't keep up with the tyre bills.
Great while it lasted! I miss that bike..
And then there were the crashes..
Broke a few ribs and suffered nerve damage at Mallory. (100mph tank slapper out the Esses)
Then pretty much wrote the bike off at Donington.. (taken out at Swantze, 100mph+)

Managed to get out the way of this one at Mallory, but it was a biggie for the rest..

Fell off at Gerards twice -a 100mph+ corner at Mallory.
Then finally, flat out in 6th at the countries fastest circuit (Thruxton), at the end of the straight. I get punted off by a 'brakeless' bike, 160mph+..
My bikes exited stage right, Tom and his bike are airbourne, I'm sliding on my arse at 150mph.
spot the 2 bikes! The cbr ended up in the skip after bouncy 10ft in the air 3 times, luckily Tom was uninjured! I got burns on my shoulder, through my leathers.
When your mum says bike racing's dangerous, she ain't joking!
